Disinformation is a highly experimental electronic music and sound art project, which (since 1995) pioneered the use of electromagnetic (mostly VLF radio) interference from live mains electricity, lightning and electric storms, VLF "whistlers", laboratory equipment, domestic appliances, industrial, metro, railway and IT hardware, magnetic storms and (applying techniques of amateur, home-brew radioastronomy) from the sun as the raw material of CD and LP publications, DJ sets and concert performances, and sound installations and art events. Disinformation has published 8 LPs and CDs, performed 90 concerts and DJ sets, contributed (since making the transition into visual art) to 50 gallery exhibitions, and been the subject of 10 UK solo exhibitions. Sci-Fi author Jeff Noon wrote in The Independent newspaper that "people are fascinated by this work", The Financial Times described Disinformation's work as "actively thrilling", The Guardian wrote that "Disinformation combine scientific nous with poetic lyricism to create some of the most beautiful installations around", and The Metro newspaper described Disinformation as "the black-ops unit of the avant garde".
